Return shipment shortfalls to the purchase order
Closing a supply shipment returns its unreceived quantity to the purchase order’s unshipped balance. For example, if 100 of 200 units arrive, closing the shipment makes the remaining 100 available to ship again.
Those units remain incoming through the outstanding purchase order rather than through the closed shipment. The shipment keeps its expected and received quantities so you can see what arrived and what was missing.
