Customs Entry
The filing that asks U.S. Customs to release imported goods and records the duties owed.
Also known as: entry summary, customs clearance, CBP Form 7501
What is Customs Entry?
A customs entry is the set of filings an importer of record, usually through a licensed customs broker, submits to U.S. Customs and Border Protection to release imported goods into the country. The entry declares what the goods are, their value, their HTS classification, and their country of origin, and the entry summary (CBP Form 7501) records the duties, taxes, and fees owed. Classification and valuation on the entry set the duty that ends up in landed cost, so errors there cost money on every unit.
How Endless handles it
Endless captures duty and freight against each receipt so landed cost per SKU reflects what the entry charged.
