FIRMS Code
The four-character code U.S. Customs uses to identify the facility holding imported goods.
Also known as: FIRMS
What is FIRMS Code?
A FIRMS code (Facilities Information and Resources Management System) is the four-character code U.S. Customs and Border Protection assigns to a facility where imported goods can be held, such as a port terminal, container freight station, or bonded warehouse. Brokers put it on entries and in-bond moves so Customs knows where the cargo is. A wrong FIRMS code can delay a release or an exam because Customs looks for the freight in the wrong place.
How Endless handles it
Endless keeps each inbound shipment’s destination warehouse on the shipment record, next to the POs it carries, which is the context a broker needs when cargo is held.
