EDI 940 (Warehouse Shipping Order)
An EDI document instructing a warehouse or 3PL to ship an order.
Also known as: 940
What is EDI 940 (Warehouse Shipping Order)?
The EDI 940 tells a third-party warehouse or 3PL to pick, pack, and ship an order on the depositor’s behalf, including items, quantities, ship-to, and carrier instructions. It is the warehouse equivalent of a fulfillment order and is paired with the 945 shipping advice that confirms what actually went out.
How Endless handles it
Endless sends 940s to your 3PLs from the same orders it manages, so fulfillment is orchestrated across any warehouse without a separate WMS integration project.
