SSCC (Serial Shipping Container Code)
A unique 18-digit code identifying an individual shipping carton or pallet.
Also known as: SSCC
What is SSCC (Serial Shipping Container Code)?
An SSCC (Serial Shipping Container Code) is the unique 18-digit GS1 identifier assigned to each logistics unit — a carton or pallet — and printed on its GS1-128 label. It is the key that connects a physical container to its contents as described in the 856 ASN, letting the receiver scan one barcode to know everything inside. Duplicate or mismatched SSCCs break the ASN-to-carton link and trigger chargebacks.
How Endless handles it
Endless generates unique SSCCs per carton and carries them consistently across the label and the ASN, so the scan-and-receive handshake works every time.
