EDI 947: Warehouse Inventory Adjustment Advice
A warehouse’s report of inventory adjustments outside normal shipping and receiving.
Warehouse / 3PL → Depositor
Whenever the warehouse adjusts on-hand inventory.
What is the EDI 947?
The EDI 947 reports changes to a depositor’s inventory that are not receipts or shipments: cycle-count corrections, damage, expired or quarantined lots, and moves between inventory statuses. Each line carries a SKU, a quantity, and a reason. Brands that ignore 947s end up with a book quantity that drifts away from what the 3PL holds.
How EndlessEDI handles the 947
EndlessEDI receives 947s and applies each adjustment to the one inventory record Endless keeps across every warehouse and 3PL, with the reason attached.
