Accessorial Charges
Fees a carrier adds to the base freight rate for services beyond standard pickup and delivery.
Also known as: accessorial, accessorials, accessorial fees
What is Accessorial Charges?
Accessorial charges are fees carriers add to the linehaul rate for anything beyond a standard dock-to-dock move: liftgate, residential or limited-access delivery, inside delivery, appointment or notification, detention, redelivery, hazardous materials, and reweigh or reclass corrections. They are published in the carrier’s rules tariff and appear as separate lines on the freight bill. Accessorials are where freight invoices most often exceed the quote, so freight audit checks every line against what was ordered.
How Endless handles it
Endless rolls every freight line, accessorials included, into landed cost per SKU, so the extra charges are visible in margin.
