Delivery Appointment Scheduling
Booking a time slot at a receiving dock before freight is delivered.
Also known as: delivery appointment, appointment scheduling, dock appointment
What is Delivery Appointment Scheduling?
Delivery appointment scheduling is the process of booking a specific time slot at a distribution center’s receiving dock before a truck arrives. Retail DCs require it for nearly all inbound freight, usually through a scheduling portal, and they often require the PO numbers and a matching ASN when the appointment is made. Missing or arriving outside the appointment can mean refused freight, a redelivery charge from the carrier, and an OTIF penalty from the retailer.
How Endless handles it
Endless keeps the PO, the ASN, and the shipment on one record, so the details a retailer asks for at booking match what is on the truck.
