Data Contract
An explicit agreement on the shape, meaning, and quality of data passed between systems.
Also known as: data contracts
What is Data Contract?
A data contract is an explicit, enforced agreement on the schema, meaning, and quality guarantees of data flowing between two systems or teams — what fields exist, their types, and what counts as valid. In commerce, data contracts are what keep a catalog, an ERP, and an EDI feed from silently drifting apart. They turn integration from a hopeful handshake into a checkable interface.
How Endless handles it
Endless enforces one governed data model across catalog, orders, and EDI, so the ‘contract’ between systems isn’t a document to police — it’s the platform itself.
