Trading Partner
Any retailer, supplier, or marketplace a brand exchanges EDI documents with.
What is Trading Partner?
A trading partner is any organization a business exchanges EDI documents with — a retailer, distributor, marketplace, or 3PL. Each partner publishes its own EDI specification and compliance requirements, meaning the same 850 can look different from Target than from Walmart. Onboarding a new trading partner means mapping and testing every required transaction set against that partner’s rules.
How Endless handles it
Endless maintains partner-specific maps so onboarding a new retailer is a configuration, not a re-integration, letting brands say yes to a new account without a quarter of EDI work.
