Average time to dispute resolution
36.0
average days to resolve
Worked example
9,360 days across 260 resolved disputes averages 36.0 days each. Set that against the filing window in your agreement, because anything aging past the deadline stops being recoverable and never appears as a loss in your win rate.
When you reach for this
A working-capital number wearing a compliance costume. Every day here is a day of recoverable cash sitting on someone else’s balance sheet.
How to read the number
Most retailers enforce a filing window, so a long average is worth checking against that deadline — disputes that age past it stop being recoverable at all, and they will not show up as losses in your win rate.
Metrics that travel with it
Questions operators ask about this metric
When does the clock start?
At the deduction, not at the moment someone noticed it. Discovery lag counts as elapsed time, and on most teams it is the single largest segment.
Why track this when I already track win rate?
Because deadlines are absolute. A dispute you would have won is worth nothing once it ages past the filing window, and win rate will never surface that loss.
Should unresolved disputes count in the average?
Leave them out of the average and report the open queue age beside it. A clean average with a stale queue behind it is the pattern that produces write-offs.
What brings the number down fastest?
Attaching the evidence at filing. Most of the elapsed time is round trips asking for proof of delivery that could have been in the packet on day one.
Stop calculating this by hand
Every number on this page comes out of data you already have — orders, shipments, inventory, deductions. Endless keeps those in one source of truth instead of four exports, so the metric updates on its own and agents watch it for you.
