EDI 301: Confirmation (Ocean)
The ocean carrier’s confirmation, change, or cancellation of a booking.
Ocean carrier → Shipper / Forwarder
After a booking request, and again whenever the booking changes.
What is the EDI 301?
The EDI 301 confirms an ocean booking requested by a 300. It returns the carrier booking number, the vessel and voyage, the port pair, the empty-container pickup location, and the cutoff times for cargo and documents. Carriers send another 301 when a booking rolls to a later sailing or changes, which is the first warning that inventory will land later than the PO planned.
How EndlessEDI handles the 301
EndlessEDI receives 301 confirmations and updates the shipment’s booking number, vessel, and dates, so a rolled sailing changes the expected arrival planners see.
