EDI 322: Terminal Operations and Intermodal Ramp Activity
Gate and yard events for containers and trailers at a port terminal or rail ramp.
Terminal / Rail ramp → Carrier / Customer
Each time equipment enters, leaves, or moves inside a terminal or ramp.
What is the EDI 322?
The EDI 322 reports what happened to a container or trailer at a terminal or intermodal ramp: in-gate, out-gate, loaded, discharged, grounded, or moved between areas, with the equipment number, condition, and time. The out-gate event is what starts per diem on the container, and the in-gate of the empty is what stops it, so 322 times are the evidence behind most demurrage and detention disputes.
How EndlessEDI handles the 322
EndlessEDI receives 322 terminal events and records gate times against the container’s shipment and POs, which is the evidence behind demurrage and detention disputes.
